Simpson 8th Grade Shirts Deadline - Sep. 4th

Each year the eighth grade has a shirt designed by one of our very own 8th grade designers.  The back of the shirt includes the names of all the 8th grade students. (Shirts are 100% cotton)   Shirts will be worn for all 8th grade activities throughout the school year.  All proceeds from this shirt will be used to support the 8th grade Dance.

In addition the PTSA is collecting funds on behalf of the 8th grade class to support the 8th grade dance and other end of year activities.  We are suggesting that each family donate $25 to this fund but any amount is appreciated.

SIMPSON FOUNDATION

Does your child have an upcoming birthday or another important milestone? Consider purchasing a "Shoutout" on the school marquee!  Shoutouts are $20 each and directly benefit the Foundation. We also have Jeans Passes available for purchase. Jeans passes allow our teachers to wear jeans on Thursdays throughout the school year. Each pass is $40. 

 

Thank you to all of the Simpson families who have already donated to our Family Investment Campaign. Please consider donating to help us reach our goal of $10,000. As we near the end of the year, and you begin to consider your holiday giving opportunities, double check if your company participates in corporate matching!

Lutzie 43 Road Race - Aug. 2nd

The Lutzie 43 Road Race is in its 11th year and was started as the first fundraiser for the Lutzie 43 Foundation. The Lutzie 43 Foundation was established in loving memory of Philip Lutzenkirchen, shortly after his death in 2014. The goal of the foundation is to inspire people to make better decisions as drivers and friends, using Philip’s life and legacy to inspire change. The foundation’s motto for drivers is to “Live like Lutz, Love like Lutz, and Learn from Lutz,” reflecting our desire to help others live out the many positive character attributes that Philip displayed while learning from the circumstances that led to his death.

The Lutzie 43 Foundation exists to reduce the number of distracted, impaired and unsafe driving incidents, ultimately diminishing the number of deaths caused by poor decisions behind the wheel. The foundation fulfills this mission by encouraging and empowering all drivers to be positive ambassadors for safe driving, carried out through our 43 Key Seconds safe driving initiative.

 

EVENT DETAILS 

ON-SITE RUNNER: The 5K will be on Saturday, August 2 and begin and end on the 43-yard line on Lutzie Field at Frank Fillman Stadium, Lassiter High School (2601 Shallowford Rd, Marietta, GA 30066). The race begins at 8:00 am kicking off with the 50-Yard Kids Run. 

VIRTUAL RUNNER: Can't make it to Lassiter High School on race day? Run from where you are OR join an organized virtual site listed below: (There is a $5 shipping charge added to virtual runner fees at checkout).

REGISTRATION

Online registration closes at 7:40 am on August 2nd. You will also have two opportunities to sign-up for the race in-person:
            1) Packet pick-up at Lucia’s Italian Restaurant (4705 Woodstock Road Roswell, GA 30075) on Friday, August 1st from 5:00 – 7:00 pm; OR
            2) Race morning from 7:00 - 7:40 am on Lutzie Field (weather permitting)

Race day registration will be available via QR code - charge only.  $43 for adults and $30 for students.
