-----> 25+ spoken languages are represented including – Arabic, Bulgarian, Cebuano, Chinese, Dari, English, French, Farsi, Georgian, Gujarati, Hebrew, Hindi, Japanese, Korean, Other - African, Other - Asian, Other - Indian, Persian, Portuguese, Romanian, Spanish, Swahili, Tagalog, Thai, Turkish, Urdu, Vietnamese, Visaya.

Student and family participation is essential to make this fun, engaging and educational. It is understandable the school year gets busy and is packed with many priorities; hence all activities are being designed with flexibility to fit schedules.

Ways to get involved

  • Set up the DEI bulletin board at school to highlight a theme each month.
  • Add more recipes to last year's book (collect via a Google form - there is one from previous years, send reminders through the communications team, use Canva or similar to put a book together at the end of the year, share electronically on the PTSA newsletter).
  • Run two art contests (one per semester, will need to coordinate with someone in school) for artwork reflecting DEI themes, these will be displayed during Intl Night in March.
  • Coordinate set up of monthly panel style exhibits on loan from KSU Museum of History
  • DEI write-up for monthly PTSA newsletter
  • New this year - PTSA is hosting Intl Night for the first time. It will be a bigger time commitment and there are several things that need to be coordinated.
