SHS 9th Grade Orientation: NewBeez
SHS has opened up the registration for current 8th grade families to select dates for the 9th grade orientation, NewBeez. SHS will offer 4 sessions over two days for students to attend (you only need to select one date). Families can go to HERE to register.  Families will select two dates that work for them and will receive confirmation of the date this summer through a postcard in the mail.
A few FAQ’s…
This event is not mandatory, but students will get their schedules early, meet upperclassmen, receive a free t-shirt, and other fun activities!  If a student cannot attend, they will be able to see their schedule through their StudentVue account the week after orientation.
This event is for students only. Parents will drop off their student for the event and pick them up at the end.
Many students are in SHS Marching Band and they will be having their band camp during this time. The band leaders will assist those students in getting their schedules since they are not able to attend SHS Orientation.

LHS & SHS KUDOS!

Congratulations to Lassiter and Sprayberry High Schools for being named 2016 Georgia Advanced Placement Honor Schools. Lassiter and Sprayberry were both honored in three categories: AP Merit, AP STEM, and AP STEM Achievement Schools!

AP Merit Schools had at least 20 percent of the student population taking AP exams and at least half of all AP exams earning scores of three (3) or higher. Two categories honor schools encouraging participation in AP Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) coursework: AP STEM Schools for having students testing in at least two AP math courses and two AP science courses (Calculus, Statistics, Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Science, Physics or Computer Science). AP STEM Achievement Schools have at least 40 percent of the exam scores on AP math and science exams earning scores of three (3) or higher. Find out more HERE.
